More Fabric Cutting
I continued to cut fabric today before I start sewing on all of it tomorrow or the next day.

I think this will become a sort of grocery bag. Or a bag for my boys, since it is Star Wars fabric, after all.

Latest Projects
Wow, it’s been a long time since I posted! I made some bags for Christmas that I didn’t even take the time to photograph before shipping them off to family and friends, and since Christmas I haven’t gotten much done. I just finished a couple Star Wars backpacks (you can see them on my Facebook page).
I attempted a denim duffel bag that didn’t come out so well (I haven’t finished it yet, but it felt like it wasn’t coming out well), so I bought a duffel bag pattern from this really cute shop on Etsy. We’ll see how that goes.
My next couple projects will be to make four purses. Here are the fabrics I’m using:

The stripes will be for the body of the bag, the flowers for a flap to close and pockets, the black for the straps

The polka dot fabric will be for the body of the bag, the flowers for the flap close and pockets, the black for the straps
I have two purses cut out for each of these fabric sets. Actually the fourth one will not have polka dots but plain black for the body of the bag.
I also have an idea bouncing around my head for a new karate bag. I plan to wash and cut out that fabric tomorrow.

Dinosaur Backpack
I made this one for my 6-year old son. He loves dinosaurs. I have some more of this fabric cut out for a tote bag as well.

Where I Sew
This is my current setup for my sewing projects. I had a lot of empty space in my den (we have yet to buy den furniture) so I put this little card table and some plastic storage stuff in there. I do my designing and fabric-cutting at the little table. What you can’t see here is that I keep my ironing board and iron very close to the table. Unfortunately I still have to carry my sewing machine to the breakfast room table to do the actual sewing — the card table is not sturdy enough for it. Eventually I want to get a nice sewing desk. The fabric draped on the chairs is fabric I’ve already cut that I’m about to start sewing.
Below is where I keep my fabric stash. The smaller scraps are in the top two drawers, 1/2 yards are in the middle and the bottom drawer has full yardage or more. At the moment I have some of the bags for sale on top–trying to find a better place for them.
And this is an inglorious pile of washed fabric, ready to iron, cut, and sew. You probably can’t tell that they are draped on a drying rack, in the same den with my other stuff. I hope these photos don’t make me look like a slob, but I thought I’d share my little space with you.

Blue Flowers and Green Plaid Tote Bag
This is a bag you may not see on my shop as a local friend has asked me to save it for her. So I’m holding it back but I wanted to share it here because I think it’s very cute. It’s one of my reversible tote bags, large enough to slide in a few folders or an iPad. (I really need to learn how to make iPad covers so I can make a cute one for my own beloved iPad.)

Halloween Bags
I’ve made quite a few Halloween bags this year. The ones pictured here are ones my own 3 boys will be taking trick-or-treating. Others are currently for sale on my Etsy shop.

Etsy Shop is Back Up!
I actually forgot to come here and mention that my Etsy shop is back up and running. You can find it here. The bag in the photo is one of my little Halloween trick-or-treat bags for sale. I have a few more to add to the shop but I’m waiting for a nice sunny day to take pictures of them.

I have also started making Treasury Lists on Etsy. You can see my lists here.

Funky Skull Backpack
I wasn’t sure as I made this if the fabric chosen for the pocket really matched, but I think it’s o.k. The cords are purple, which matches some of the skulls. The colors don’t come out quite accurately here –the purples look more blue. I need to take better photos next time.

Purple Flowery Backpack
This one might end up on the Etsy shop when it reopens.
